About the Artwork

These paintings explore the delicate dance between chemistry and memory. Each molecule is painted at the center, with birds and flowers surrounding it-symbols of memories that flutter in and out of reach. The birds carry the fleeting, fragile quality of a thought recalled, While the flowers echo the organic, ever-shifting landscape of the mind. Together, they form a visual metaphor for how the brain translates molecular signals into lived experiences.

Sertraline acts in the brain as a steady regulator, selectively inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and gradually increasing its availability in neural circuits. Rather than producing immediate shifts, it stabilizes mood and reduces emotional volatility, which can support more consistent and balanced learning over time. Memory under sertraline is less driven by intense negative bias, allowing experiences to be encoded with greater emotional neutrality, though its effects are subtle, promoting clarity and resilience rather than vivid or dramatic changes.
