Poppy cup

A technique brought home from Japan.

The cups here are made with the famous plate technique combined with the traditional Japanese technique Nerikomi.

Here the clay's own colors are used as decoration on the outside of the cup instead of glaze as we know it.

The motive is inspired by the poppy's red flowers portrayed on a background of raw black clay.
