Kids’ Pottery Workshop - 3 Days of Clay, Creativity & Fun

Does your child love being creative, working with their hands, and making things from scratch? Join us for three days of pottery, creativity, and exploration, where children will learn different hand-building techniques and have plenty of time to experiment and develop their own ideas. Each day consists of 4 hours of guided pottery, with a 30-minute lunch break. Throughout the workshop, I’ll introduce different techniques and guide the children through the creative process, while giving them plenty of freedom to make their own unique pieces.

Day 1 – Getting to Know Clay.

On the first day, we’ll explore three basic hand-building techniques: Slab building, pinch pots, and coil building. We’ll create simple pieces such as cups and bowls while learning how each technique works and exploring the many possibilities of shaping clay.

Day 2 – From Technique to Art.

On day two, we’ll get more creative and focus on developing our own ideas. Each child will design and create their own artwork using one or more of the techniques we’ve learned. It could be a relief, a vase, a sculpture, or something completely different. The focus is on creativity, experimentation, and finding your own way of working with clay.

Day 3 – Decoration & Details.

On the final day, we’ll decorate our creations and give them their own personal expression. We’ll explore techniques such as sgraffito, underglaze decoration, and whatever else the children’s imagination comes up with. After the workshop, I’ll take care of firing the pieces so they are ready to be taken home.

Take Home Your Own Creations: Each participant can take home up to 6 finished ceramic pieces from the workshop. There is also an optional additional glazing day where the children can return to glaze their finished pieces and choose from a selection of beautiful glaze colours.

Glazing day: 24 October (Participation is an additional 250kr).

Price: 950 DKK per participant

Included: 3 days of pottery, tuition, clay, and firing of up to 6 pieces.

There will be a 30-minute lunch break each day, so please remember to bring a packed lunch from home. Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult over 18. No previous pottery experience is needed; bring your imagination and a willingness to get your hands dirty!
